7 Layers takes its name literally. Human skin is built from seven distinct structural layers — five within the epidermis, then the dermis, then the hypodermis beneath it. Every treatment we offer is chosen by how deep it needs to work, not just what it's meant to treat. Here's the real anatomy behind that idea.

Epidermis

Stratum Corneum

Protective barrier

The outermost layer, made of dead, flattened skin cells packed with keratin. It's the body's literal physical shield against water loss and the outside world — and it's what facials and exfoliating treatments mostly work on.

Stratum Lucidum

Translucent buffer

Technically only present in thick skin — palms and soles. Most skin on the body skips straight from the corneum to the granulosum below it.

Stratum Granulosum

Cells begin to harden

Cells here start producing keratin and losing their nucleus, beginning the process of becoming the tough, dead cells above them.

Stratum Spinosum

Structural strength

The thickest of the epidermal sublayers. Cells here are linked by small spiny junctions that give skin its flexibility and strength.

Stratum Basale

New skin is born

The deepest epidermal layer, sitting right on the boundary with the dermis. Stem cells here divide continuously and push new cells upward — and it's where pigment-producing melanocytes live.

The boundary between the epidermis and dermis isn't flat in real anatomy — it's wavy, made of interlocking ridges. That's exactly what the wavy divider in our own treatment map represents. It isn't just decoration — it's anatomically accurate.
